An original Miroir des Sports, August 11 1936, featuring Jesse Owens the Champion of Champions!

Jesse owens set many records at the Berlin Olympics, as well as won gold in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, the long jump, and as part of the 4x100 meter relay team. Fresh out of college at Ohio State, the "Buckeye Bullet" had already set three world records a tied a fourth the summer before at a single Big Ten NCAA track meet. In Berlin, Owens steadily brought in Gold for the US team in the face of the Nazi sponsored games where aryan centric ideals had permeated the host-countries leaders. His victorys in Berlin are considered cultural milestones.
