Lauren was only 24 years old when she died June 2007 from anaphylactic shock caused by asthma. This Memorial is to help raise funds for a trust fund that has been set up for her daughter London Marie by her family.

One of the greatest joys of Lauren’s life was giving birth, in January of 2007, to London Marie.  Lauren never thought she would have a baby – she had always assumed that she would adopt. After London was born, Lauren said, “I was meant to do this.” Lauren was truly an awesome mom.

One of Lauren’s most outstanding qualities was her concern for others. Being a person who struggled with allergies and asthma her whole life, she wanted to help others. Having the rare blood type AB, she gave blood as often as she could. Lauren was also an organ donor. There is no doubt that Lauren’s death was a tragedy, she was much too young to die.

Very often when someone young dies or someone dies tragically or unexpectedly, we jump to the “why” question. Although, that is a natural thing to do – that is a very difficult question to answer. There is however a question that we can answer and that is – “What now?”  What will I do now to honor Lauren’s life? How will I live my life, having known Lauren? How can I make this a better world because Lauren was in it?

             Asthma affects over 22 million people in America and causes nearly 2 million emergency room visits every year.  Asthma in children occurs in approximately 10-12% of all children.
