Pair of German-made binoculars from long ago. They are the Goerz "Neo-Trieder" model, 8 x 24 that were made around 1911. Probably for civilian use, but they might have been carried by a German soldier three years later. As you can see from the pictures, they are not in perfect shape. There is some leather torn off one side; a missing screw; the strap is broken on one end; the right ocular has a scratch on it. They do, however, still focus and function, albeit by 1911 standards. They come with a French-made case with one of their owner's name on it. |
