Vintage 1953 SCRABBLE Crossword board game OUT OF PRINT

This auction is for 1953 “Scrabble” crossword Board game by Selchow & Righter.   This is a word game which consists of forming interlocking words, cross-word fashion, on the SCRABBLE playing board using wooden letter tiles with various score values.  Each player competes for high score by using his letters in combinations and locations that take best advantage of letter values and premium squares on the board.  The combined total score for a game may range from about 500 points to 700 or more depending on the skill of the players.

This was and still is America’s favorite word game!   

 Game is in excellent condition considering its age of 56 years.  It is complete with the following components:

        Game board

        100 WOODEN letter tiles

        4 WOODEN racks

        Instructions are on the lid of the box

Box is in excellent condition.  No split corners and very little wear.  It has been well taken care of these last 56 years!
