Here is a hardcover book titled "CHICAGO 1860-1919" . A history of Chicago from the start of the Civil War, thru the Great Fire, the Great Exposition to the end of World War I and the White Sox Baseball Scandal. An intimate portrait of people, pleasures and power. Stories are in six sections 1-There was a Beginning, 2-Growth of a City, 3-Rogues and Citizens, 4-How to seize a City, 5-Society Upstairs and Down and 6-Sodom by the Lake. Written by Stephen Longstreet and copyright in 1973. Inside the front and back covers are B&W illustrated maps of Chicago during the Civil War and Chicago During World War I years. Size of the book is about 9-1/4 x 6-1/4" and 547 pages. There is no jacket. The covers are faded. The illustration shown in the picture is embossed into the cover but does not show up well in pictures. The book is snug to the bindings and is easily readable and very interesting.
