Majolica Pottery Italy Table Lamp Dragon/Winged Serpent

Please note...this lamp is not ready for use.  It has the old cloth covered cord, and although the cord appears to be in very good condition, the plug has been cut off...so it will either need to be rewired or have a new plug attached.  The finial is also missing from the harp.

I do not know the age of this lamp but I do believe that it's an older one.  It was quite dirty when I purchased it, especially around the handles.  While cleaning it up...I found no cracks, chips or damage to the pottery.  As shown in the last two photos, the cord feeds through a hole on the base.  Right below the hole is a v-cut notch which could also accommodate a cord.  It's a clean cut notch and appears to be factory done, as does the hole, so I'm a little confused.

The colors are lovely and I hope that my pictures do them justice.  I have photographed all sides.  The dragon design is on the front and back, and then another design on both sides below the handles.  The background color is a creamy beige.  The design colors are golden yellow, light brown with just a hint of red to it, and green.  The pottery part of the lamp stands a full 9" in height and 16 3/4" with the harp that's currently attached.  It is 6 1/4" wide at it's widest point and the base has a diameter of 3 3/4".  The base is marked Made in Italy and is numbered 529.

I do not offer any international shipping and I ship only to confirmed addresses.  Shipped as is will require an oversized box, which will increase the shipping costs and will be the amount shown by the shipping calculator.  At the buyer's request, I could disassemble the lamp and still send all the parts but get it into a smaller box, which hopefully would lower the shipping expense...or I could disassemble and send only the body, thus reducing the weight, box size and overall shipping costs.  Please don't ask me to disassemble the lamp prior to the auction closing.  I know that I can get it apart, but I'm not sure that I can get it back together again...so I will only do it upon the new buyer's request.
