This is an exceptional staff.  I have never seen one like it before.  It is about 19 1/2" tall.  The staff is a Janus-faced staff attached to a base elephant with two metal straps front and back.  The elephant is carved so that it appears that legs and very small feet of the staff are on either side of it. The base appears to have a little bit missing on one side, but it appears to have been that way from when it was made, there is no break discoloration.  It is in excellent condition, with only a couple of very minor age cracks.  It appears to have considerable age.  I am a private collector, who has retired, and am now beginning to sell of my 15 year collection of African art and other items.  I will be listing at least 100 items over the next week or two.  I normally include a couple of dollars in my shipping cost to cover bubble wrap, peanuts, etc.
