How often you hear this question asked at a luncheon or a dinner where delicious homemade cake is served. You'll notice she seldom tells those "Cake Secrets." I will tell you her "Cake Secrets." First of all, remember there are only two kinds of cake--butter cake and sponge cake. Every cake is a variation of one of these two; every cake begins by being a butter or a sponge cake. Learn to make these two fundamental cakes and it is easy to make any variation of either."

Recipes for all of the pictured items, and many more are included. Also icings, frostings, fillings. Complete instructions for methods of mixing, baking, required utensils, how to measure, etc.
