Christmas Wreath Plate South Carolina 1991

The ninth plate in a limited edition series of thirteen fine china plates depicting Christmas wreaths created with the natural materials that were native to each of the thirteen original colonies. Each plate was issued annually in the same sequence as the establishment of the colonies.  The plate is handcrafted in ivory Lenox China and decorated with 24 Karat gold.

The reverse features South Carolina information and concludes with "The 1991 wreath commemorates South Carolina's vast appreciation of possibly the finest collection of the winter flowering Camellia japonica in existence in Charleston's Magnolia Gardens.  The Pink Perfection camellia's dark, shiny leaves and delicate pink blooms entwined around Spanish moss make up the South Carolina wreath.  The camellias and moss native to the state help depict what a Christmas wreath in colonial South Carolina may have looked like. 

Plate is in fantastic condition with Box.
