The Condell Collection of basketry in the Illinois State Museum contains many fine examples of the major styles of basketry made by the native tribes of western North America. The baskets were acquired prior to 1926 by Thomas Condell of Springfield, Illiinois.  This handbook illustrates and fully describes 138 baskets in the collection.  The volume is overflowing with information of interest to basket collectors and basket makers.
