for daily strip published June 21, 1947

India ink on heavy-weight drawing paper, 23” by 7.25”. This authentic original drawing for the strip measures approximately 19.75” by 6”. Good condition. Paper is slightly off-white. The 1947 copyright label still affixed.

This episode features Lord and Lady Plushbottom in a typical verbal volley where Lord Plushbottom discovers he loses again. A fine example of Willard’s drawing skill and humor in the golden years. Strips of this vintage are rare. This one is an excellent example of Golden Age comic strip art to add to your collection just in time for Christmas.
