This listing is for a Martin&Co DM Mahogany Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (Serial# 775306) made in 2000. This Martin is in excellent condition and comes with a solid Martin hardshell case also in great shape. And of course, since it's a Martin it's made in the USA. The DM features a solid spruce top with laminated mahogony sides and back, bold herringbone rosette, satin finish, Martin chrome tuners. and a tortoise pickguard. On the Martin scale, this is about as stripped down a guitar as they make. But then, I always figure it's all about the sound, right?. And what a sound! For the money, in my opinion, there's no finer sounding guitar out there. The mahogony places the sound on the brighter side than it's equivalent rosewood sister, the DR. Very dynamic in the volume department. It can purr or roar on command. It plays easy and stays in tune for months. This DM seems to have been set up perfectly at the factory and has required no bridge or neck adjustments. The action is rather low for a Martin and it plays smooth and easy. The DM has a very minimal satin finish - makes you have to look twice to tell whether they actually applied anything at all to the spruce top - it's plain looking but still a beauty in its own way. But again, my bottom line is the sound. I've owned many acoustic guitars in my life but for the money the DM is a big winner.

NOTE: There are a couple of very shallow dings on the spruce top. Hard to see on the photo but they are there nevertheless. But like any 6-year-old acoustic guitar that's been played frequently and not just stored in it's case, there are almost sure to be a few marks here and there. But this particular DM is in amazing shape; you can tell it's been treated with lots of TLC over the years.
