VOLTCRAFT UNIVERSAL 12V CHARGER with Jumper Cables

This European made universal charger by Voltcraft can charge Beaulieu Super 8mm camera batteries as well as all kinds of battery packs. It was part of a Beaulieu 5008 Camera Kit and is a popular way to charge Beaulieu batteries.

This unit has been tested and it does output 12 volts. The best feature is that the Amperage can be adjusted by dialing the front knob to a specified level of Amps. How it works -- the dial is supposed to be set, in mA or Amps, to the capacity of the battery you are charging. For a Beaulieu 5008 battery, this would be 500mA. For a standard 4008 round battery it would be 250mA. For a re-celled 4008 round battery it would be 300mA or 450mA for the button cell refurb. For a battery pack, the appropriate mA should be choosen (1000m - 1400mA). Because this unit is made for European power outlets at 220 volt, when using in USA with 110 volt power, double your mA setting to get the desired level of charge. A 5008 handle battery - set it at 1000mA, a 4008 round battery - set it at 500mA and so forth. A handy unit for Super 8mm enthusiasts.
