Publication date:  1897

Description: A wonderful, detailed and attractive map of Southern Africa as it was in 1897. Includes the Cape Colony, Damaraland, Great Namaqualand, Bechuanaland, South African Republic, Gasa Land, Nothern Zambesia, etc. Also Madagascar and the Comor Islands. Clearly shows railways, submarine cables and tribal names. This is an original map, published over 110 years ago! This is not only a fascinating historical reference, showing how the area has changed over the years, it is also a beautiful work of art.

This map would look fantastic framed either individually or in a group.

Size: Map measures: c. 50cm x 33cm / 20" x 13"
Good space for matting / mounting

Condition: Good - some slight age related marks around the edge of the page, these have minimal impact on the map. Being over 2-pages these is a natural fold across the centre of the page.
