Presented for your consideration is a Roseville Art Pottery window box of the Peony pattern. The makers mark on the base is the trademark script-like impressed name
In my opinion, this 8" planter is in "fine" condition with little manufacturing defect. It measures approx. 10 1/2" length x 3" width x 3" deep. The mould is crisp, the color pronounced and even, yet the glaze is imperfect as there are tiny burst air bubbles in the glaze at the center of each Peony-- likely from a foam that occured when the glaze was brushed on the piece before firing. There is also crazing over the surface of the planter. There are no cracks or missing elements. However, there is a chip at the top edge of one corner which has compromised the glaze, (see photo 3, upper right corner). It is an easy repair for a restoration specialist. The photos in this listing are the sole property of WJ Driver, and may not be reproduced or used without my consent— additional pictures are available upon request. I am not an expert appraiser and can only offer this opinion. I hope you will make an offer on this outstanding window box and enjoy it in your home or as part of your collection. Roseville Art Pottery is said to increase in value, and as long as the planter remains in this condition will make a valuable estate asset. Please email me with any requests or questions.
