1875 ASTRONOMY BOOK GLOSSARY, Hundreds of Terms Defined

This "Glossary or Explanation of Astronomical Terms" was published in 1875 as part of Smith's Illustrated Astronomy, a school text written by Asa Smith and originally published in Boston in 1848.  These two pages are from a damaged copy of the "Revised and Improved" edition published 27 years later.  

The two page glossary is printed on separate sheets, so they could be framed side by side.  There is text on the reverse, including an interesting  "List of Valuable Publications" by the same publisher, Nichols & Hall.  About three hundred terms are defined, from Aberration and Absorbent Media through Zenith, Zodiac, and Zone.   

Page size is about 9 by 11 inches.  Condition is very good with some minor soiling in the margins and minor creasing and wrinkling on one page.  The defects detract only slightly and could be mostly concealed with a mat.
