Grading Scale
All grading is visual under strong light. Vinyl/Cover
SS: still sealed. As with all things “buyer beware”. I only attest to the fact that this how I received the Item.
NM: near mint. This is reserved for albums that have no visible flaws when viewed under a strong light. Looks unplayed.
Covers should no more than rub wear (no ring wear) from normal handling and storage. No splits or flaking of the edges.
VG+: Very Good plus. This applies to light (hairline) scratches (very few) and light sleeve scuffs. Still glossy.
Covers might show light shelf wear but not full ring wear, edges intact and not split, spine intact and legible, light wear on corners. No cutout notches or holes.
VG: Very Good. More than a few hairline scratches and scuffs that are light. Still glossy.
Cover might show shelf wear with more pronounced ring wear (but not full) top and bottom, wear or flaking on the edges and corners, spin intact and legible. No cutout notches or holes.
G+: Good Plus. Only used with play graded records. This is for more than scuffs and hairline. The album has been played through with no skipping and minimal noise (clicking and hissing).
Cover shows light but obvious ring wear. Edges show wear and may have slight separation at the bottom or top of ring and the album opening. Spine still legible but shows wear and/or cracking.
G/F: Good /Fair. Generally not sold by me and are sold “as is” for rare hard to find records. They are not suitable for enjoyable listening IMO and are not played on my equipment. I do clean them if being sold and still have gloss.
Cover shows pronounced wear. Small splits up to 3 inches. Edges show pronounced wear. Spines show wear but are legible for the most part. Only sold with G+ or better records and rare hard to find records. This condition clearly stated in the description of the item as is sold “as is”.
