This is a simple project that can be completed by any person. Construction of the collectors does not require machining or precision work of any kind. No special tools or skills are required to complete this project. As an engineer working in the solar industry I designed the collectors (and tested for five years) with the intent of creating inexpensive, very simple, and practical do-it-yourself system for a homeowner.

This system raises water temperature from 70F to 90F (20 degrees) in just few sunny days.
My collectors work as good as the factory assembled collectors you might buy for hundreds of dollars.

The assembly/installation plans include:

  • A complete list of materials with photographs showing all components. All materials are available from your local hardware stores (Home Depot);
  • A complete set of plain English (no technical jargon) step-by-step instructions clearly illustrated by detailed photographs to guide you through every phase of system construction.

The collectors can be mounted on the ground, roof, wall, or fence.
