Movie description
Hong Kong director Dante Lam's inventive fantasy-romance TIRAMISU offers an unconventional love story that's as sweetly satisfying as the dessert for which it's named. Nicholas Tse (A MAN CALLED HERO) and Karena Lam (JULY RHAPSODY) costar as doomed lovers Fung and Jane, a deaf delivery boy and an ambitious dance student who meet and fall in love all on the same day. Though the fledgling romance is seemingly ended before it's begun when Jane is killed in a bus accident, an afterlife loophole allows her to return to earth as a ghost living within Fung's body, curing his deafness. Now it's up to Fung to decide whether he wants to remain in this life or join his lover in death, even as demonic spirits arrive to lure Jane back to the underworld. Unfolding like a Cantonese version of GHOST, Lam's achingly lovely meditation on the twin forces of love and death sustains its melancholy atmosphere with moody, fantasy-laden imagery and the charismatic performances of its two leads.

Tiramisu tells of the fleeting love story between Fung (Nicholas Tse) and Jane (Karena Lam). Fung is a young postman by day and janitor by night, who also happened to be deaf since the death of his father years before. Jane is a dancer and part of a promising contemporary dance group who have reached the final of a major dance competition. Both happen to meet coincidentally in various places within a day in Hong Kong, but don't exchange a word. However, a tragic road accident takes away Jane's life and she seeks Fung to fulfill a few final requests on her behalf before she enters the underworld.

The story line is simple yet effective. It follows a deaf hk guy (nictse) through an average day till he meets and sees a girl (KarYamLan) and then she dies.

This isn't the sad and emotional part yet, but the story continues, and as it does it gets deeper and deeper, and pulls you in till you get to the finally, which is ultimate!

It is an unusual movie which combines fun, laughter, and sadness, and with an absolutely amazing soundtrack, turns out to be one heck of a movie worth every second watching!
