This is a very well done original color ink on Hammermill paper painting signed by listed Abstract Expressionist artist AUBREY JOHN PENNY (b. 1917). This spectacular painting is one from Hyper - Reflection Series and is signed in pencil by the artist on the front lower right "Penny" and dated. It is also inscribed "Original, Hyper-Reflection Series, dated  1972" and numbered on the verso. It is in excellent condition, drawing image measures 19" x 19" on 19" x 24" Hammermill paper. It is not framed but you can see how this painting would look fabulous in a Modern frame (see pictures).

PROVENANCE: Estate of the Artist. Authenticity is GUARANTEED.

Exhibited: LACMA, 1954-57; Corcoran Gal biennial, 1957; AWCS, 1957-58; PAFA, 1959; two-man shows, Madison Gal, NYC, 1963 & Int De Deauville, France, 1972. Awards: Prize for drawing, Emanual Sch, London, 1931; award of merit, Calif Nat Watercolor Soc, 1955; hon mention, Los Angeles City Art Festival, 1958. Member: Contemp Art Soc, London; Victoria Inst, London; Am Soc Aesthetics & Art Criticism. Work: Contemp Art Soc, London; Edward Dean Mus, Cherry Valley, Calif. Comments: In WW73, he is described as the "originator of the style, "No-osism" or mind-line, based on primacy of mind in the continuum, that chemical-electric relationships lead to neural energy, to feeling, to act." Preferred Media: acrylics. Positions: Owner, No-os Gal, Los Angeles, 1955-70s; member art council, UCLA, 1955-70s.
