The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high-quality, reproduction print of a humorous, vintage 1900 Christmas photo of Santa Claus smoking. "Caught In The Act" is the title of the photograph that was probably produced as a Christmas postcard or for use in Christmas advertisements. Seated on a fake chimney, Santa Claus is enjoying a smoke from a long pipe and blowing smoke rings-suggesting he is not a first time smoker. Obviously struggling up and down those chimneys is exhausting work and Santa just needed a break.

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: The photograph does show that the Santa of 1900 is not the fat jolly image Santa created later in the Twenteth century. This thin, almost scraggly, Santa more closely resembles the Father Christmas image. He is certainly not the plump, jolly Santa we know today. Advertising artists created the fat jolly Santa during the 1920s and 1930s.
