Type: Flatware - Knives  
One George W. Shiebler Sterling Silver cake/pie knife in very good condition. The pattern is "American Beauty" which was patented in 1896. The knife is approximately 10.75" long with a hollow Sterling Silver handle and a Silverplated steel blade. The handle is stamped STERLING and also has the winged S stamp that denotes Shiebler as the maker. The blade is straight but the knife has been used and there is some loss of Silverplate. The repousse handle is in very good shape with minor signs of use. Surroundings colors have been reflected in the photos and are not stains on the knife, there is a certain amount of "patina" in the background of the repousse that I will leave for the new owner to decide whether to polish out or not. This is a very nice century old cake knife from a high quality maker.
