1893 VINTAGE OLD BOWLING ALLEY CLUB TEAM POSTER AD 1623

The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high-quality, reproduction print of a vintage 1893 poster encouraging people (men) to join their friends at the local bowling club.  The closing of the nineteenth century clearly marked the point at which the rules of the game had been set and the game developed into a business.  The bowling alley would soon be a fixture in many communities. 

In this nostalgic scene, seven men (all wearing shirts and ties) watch as two bowlers compete.  One man has just released his bowling ball as another prepares to release his.  A scorekeeper prepares to track the scores.  On the left side, the front portion of a keg of beer rests on a stand.  Two men are seated at a table drinking and, apparently, engaging in some good nature laughter at their friends. 

The text reads, “Join your friends at the bowling club.  The men at your local club are awaiting to show you how to bowl.  Great fun.  Good exercise.  Contact your local bowling club for information.”

This rare full color poster is unique for this era and captures the camaraderie that existed in the formative years of the sport.
