Description: You are bidding for a stunning and very interesting Antique Travel Guide Book. The book is titled 'Travels in North Europe' The book was compiled by Rev William Bingley who was the author of many books on travel and animals in this period

What we need to remember is that the book was designed for the use of young persons and is dated 1822. The majority of the young persons in the country were working in industry, or learning and studying for roles within professional careers.

The average person lived until they were 40 in 1820 so this book was aimed at the wealthy and wasn't actually to be used as an actual guide. The reader would do a virtual journey through North Europe using the writings to spur the imagination this is where the writings were well compiled by Rev William Bingley he put the reader in the heart of the place they were reading about

These days we can jump on a plane and within no time we can be anywhere in Europe, where this book is important is that the writings have been done when there was no tourism, major hotels and attractions what you saw is what you got

Whilst reading this book you can put yourself back in history and experience the life and social history as it was up to 1822. You can visit the places mentioned and using the book let it guide you around the place that was

The book has been bound by light tan calf’s leather which has been enhanced with gold gilt, there is a small patch missing from the spine but this is acceptable for a book nearly 200 years old

This is a great book that would certainly compliment any collection or display and would make an ideal gift for any friend or loved one (why not read it yourself first)

Postage

If the postage is less, then the difference no matter how much will be donated to the NSPCC if on receipt of your item you wish to be credited the difference then please email within 7 days ( this is only applicable on amounts over £2)

Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
