Very thick black and gilt embossed cover, hand-tooled leather.  Cover is similar to spine and with gilt letters and 5 raised black bands. Some wear to corners, dark blue marble end pages, lovely hand-coloured plates with tissue guard.  The family register has not been filled in. 

This handsomely bound leather book is in Good Condition and is considerably rarer than other big bibles of this period.  The only one on-line in comparable condition is listed for well over a thousand dollars.
