About The Artist
Nauris Dainis  a.k.a. The Catis a Latvian artist, designer and my sweetheart. =) He is not very good at English (He's learning with my assistance), that is why he cannot tell directly about himself, and I manage eBay listings for him. Each artwork by Nauris is A UNIQUE, ONE OF A KIND ORIGINAL! Except for the digital works, no reproductions of any art piece is ever made by him. As any artist Nauris gets emotionally attached to what he does and loses himself in his work, becoming almost one with the art he creates. That is why he considers it to be impossible to really make another piece of Art that would be the same. Of course it is possible to make one that would look the same. But it would not really be the same. Nauris values uniqueness very much. He says that (I quote) "For art to be good, it must be make a man feel and think about the way things are."
  Nauris has been an artist for over 17 years, since 1992, when he started his studies in a Rezeknes Collage of Arts. He graduated in 1997. with a professional degree in ceramics. In 1999. Nauris entered Latvian Academy of Arts- the largest school for artists in his native country and historically the first institution of this kind in Baltic States. Nauris received a Bachelor degree in glass art in 2003, and a Master degree in glass art and visual design in 2005.
Nauris' originals have been exhibited in galleries in Latvia, Estonia and Poland
Nauris has worked as an art teacher for kids, a designer for the advertising industry and as a freelancer
Main sources for inspiration for Nauris is wild nature and our cat
We live in a beautiful, scenic town. It is a rather small, quiet place with a hilly terrain. In our neighborhood, there even is a place called Gleznotâjkalns, which means "The Hill for Landscape Painters" . Sigulda, the town we are blessed to live in, is situated on a picturesque stretch of primeval Gauja river valley. Because of the reddish Devonian sandstone which forms step rocks and caves on both banks of the river, Sigulda is often called "Switzerland of Vidzeme". It is awesome, especially in autumns, when trees fall into color. The view out of our windows at sunset and in autumn is absolutely breathtaking! I've put some pictures of Sigulda in here for You to see for Yourself. All the objects in this image are within 3 km radius around our home.

 Our oldest cat passed away recently. Now we are left with our tiny, little princess- her name is Sīksīka, which literally means "Ms. Very, Very Tiny", when translated from Latvian. Must admit that our Tiny is an exceptional help for Nauris. Frequently when he is drawing she comes around and always finds a way how to lay down over the finished pieces and work material. This way she must be expressing her appreciation for being the source of inspiration for many of those artworks as well as giving her blessing to them :)
 
 On eBay we primary sell ACEOs with cats and Line-art drawings by Nauris. Nauris has developed a unique character called Mr. Cat who is featured in a continuous series of ACEOs by him. By now more than 100 unique ACEOs with Mr. Cat have been created. Mr. Cat is occasionally accompanied by Mr.Mouse and Mrs. Cat has also been drawn
