I HAVE FOR AUCTION A SET OF MY HAND PAINTED PLASTIC CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS. THIS SET REPRESENTS MEMBERS OF A PENNSYLVANIA INFANTRY REGIMENT TAKING POSITIONS AND FIRING ON REBEL TROOPS. THESE ARE HIGHLY DETAILED CONTE, TSSD AND MARX FIGURES. THE UNION SOLDIER FIRING HIS PISTOL IS ONE OF MY CONVERSION FIGURES. HE NORMALLY HAS A SLOUCH HAT, BUT HAS BEEN CONVERTED WITH A KEPI. A NICE SIX PEICE SET FOR YOUR CIVIL WAR COLLECTION.

A SHORT HISTORY: I FIRST STARTED TO TRY AND PAINT TOY SOLDIERS WHEN I WAS A KID. I HAD ALL THE SETS, THE BATTLE OF THE BLUE AND GREY, FORT APACHE, THE ALAMO, BEN HUR AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. ALL THE PLASTIC SOLDIERS I COULD GET AND BUILT HUGE ARMIES WITH THEM. BUT I GOT TIRED OF THE SHADES OF GREEN AND COLORS THEY CAME IN BECAUSE I WANTED THEM TO LOOK REAL AND BE ABLE TO TELL THEM FROM THE GOOD GUYS AND THE BAD GUYS IN THEIR TRADITIONAL COLOR UNIFORMS. I WOULD PLAY WITH THEM, GIVE THEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS, , AND WHEN I GOT TIRED OF THEM, I WOULD PUT THEM IN BOXES AND STORE THEM IN THE ATTIC. AS I GOT OLDER, I GAVE THEM ALL AWAY ONE DAY AND HAVE REGRETTED IT EVER SINCE. OVER THE YEARS I STARTED GETTING SERIOUS AGAIN ABOUT PAINTING WHEN I PURCHASED SOME 15MM METAL CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS, AND MADE A DIORAMA OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE CIVIL WAR SCENES, THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG. I SENT SOME PICTURES OF IT BACK THEN TO THE COMPANY I PURCHASED THE FIGURES FROM AND THEY LIKED IT SO MUCH THEY USE A FEW OF THE PICTURES FOR THEIR ADVERTISEMENT, WHICH YOU CAN SEE IF YOU LIKE, JUST GO TO THEIR WEB SITE, "STONE MOUNTAIN MINIATURES AND FIGURES.
