This auction is for a Lionel Prewar Standard Gauge #511 Flatcar. This is the first version of this flatcar that was made, was available in 1927, and is 11 1/4" long x 3 3/8" wide x 3 1/2" high. It has a green metal frame with molded in steps, brass brakewheels, brass stakes, nickel journal boxs, trucks retained with cotter pins, oil label, milled lumber to resemble planks, and latch couplers. "LIONEL LINES" is rubber-stamped in gold on the sides, and "511" is rubber-stamped in gold on the underside. This gondola is complete and all original. There is not rust or dents. The rubber-stamped graphics are strong. The oil label is intact but there are some oil stains which make the graphics weak. There are a few scratches. This is a nice clean gondola, grades to a nice very good (C6), and will make an excellent addition to your Lionel Standard Gauge layout.
