This is a limited edition print "Pieta at Ground Hero" from 2001 that is very hard to find. The original painting was presented to mayor Rudy Giuliani and the chaplains of the New York fire department.It now hangs in their new board rm.This piece is a reproduction of an original painting. This print has been hand signed by Frank Hopper who is a very good friend of mine. The picture doesn't do justice to the wonderful colors of this print. Frank Hopper, portraiture, painter, muralist, sculptor, teacher, and honored recipient of the Gold Medal from the Accademia Italian delle Arti a del Lavoro.

Mr. Hopper's work includes:

  • More than 200 paintings for the Archdiocese of Chicago
  • The Famous American series, commissioned by President John F. Kennedy,
    hangs in the Historical Museum in Washington, D.C.
  • The famous David painting, "Why Don't You Speak?", hangs in the Fine Arts Museum in Sioux Falls, SD
  • Two Presidential paintings for George Bush, depicting his theme of "A Thousand Points of Light" and flying for the Navy during World War II, as did the artist.
  • A presidential painting of Ronald Reagan "Picking up the Reins"
  • A presidential painting of Richard Nixon
  • The painting, "PIETA at GROUND HERO" unveiled and presented to the New York Fire Dept. in their new board room.
  • Attended The Art Institute of Chicago and The American Academy of Art in Chicago.
  • Listed in Who's Who in American Art. He serves as a Posey Foundation Art Consultant, is a member of the American Portrait Society, and the Society of Marine Painters. Also is a member of Mensa.
