How to dress like a movie star at home...or anywhere!
                             
Description: Gorgeous in cotton sateen with a rose print in deep shades of red, this dress was designed as a hostess gown by the lounge wear maker Stella Fagin. I certainly wouldn't rule out wearing it outside of the home! There is a long metal zipper hidden under the front placket. The dress has a sash tie with the rose print on one side and red cotton velvet on the other. The skirt of the dress flares smoothly in back, while in front it falls from gathers at both sides of the waist. 3/4-length sleeves. I believe the dress dates from the late 40s or early 50s.

 Condition: I am going to say excellent, because the dress itself is without flaw that I can find. The belt has a mend on the printed side at about the middle (next to last photo) and there are handful of tiny spots on the velvet side. I found the dress with recent dry cleaning tags attached, so it is clean. Size: Best for about a US size 8 by my estimate, leaning toward 6. (Please see "For Best Fit" on my About Me page). Please go by the measurements: Bust-38", Waist-28", Hip-full, Back of neck to waist-16.75", Waist to hem-43", Shoulder to shoulder-16.25". Please note: I measure the dimension of the item itself, and you will need to consider what size you would want the item to be to fit well on you.  (So, for instance, you would have trouble with it being tight if you were the same size as the garment.)
