The winning bidder will receive the bow pictured. This vintage bear polar is from the mid 1950's. It is in good solid shooting condition with no limb twist or probems. The bow is a double shelf bow for right or left handed shooting. It is 64 inches long unstrung. It comes with a good string that has a bad serving. The bow has maroon colored glass both sides with a fair original varnish finish. It is good but it shows its age. The bow has the original leahter wrapped grip that is good and shows minor wear from age. The original leather strikeplates are pretty much gone. The backside of the upper limb is marked with: Bear GLASS-POWERED Polar. The backside of the lower limb is marked with the standing Bear and: BEAR ARCHERY COMPANY GRAYLING MICHIGAN with Pat. Nos. and 1953. The bow is 1953 or later. The woodwork of the riser/handle is nice with no holes and good original finish. It is marked: 64" MJ20 33#. I am guessing a 1955 or 56 model. No stress marks that need to be mentioned on the limbs. Overall good looking vintage polar with a fair varnish finish. No delamination problems and should be a good shooter yet. Sold as a shooter. Buyer will pay shipping of 18.00. Nice bow for the vintage polar collector. |
