1930's Santa Claus Christmas Toys Original Art Sign

Here we have what I believe to be an original piece of artwork used as a Christmas display for Toys around the 1930’s.

With amazing, vibrant colors, this item is sure to please just about anyone who collects advertising, toys, Christmas

related items etc.  It is custom framed in a new but antique looking black frame under glass. I did not frame it so I do

not know if there is anything on the back.  It appears to be on cardboard or some type of art board. I have looked at it

at least 100 times and it seems this is painted using watercolors or colored pens. It also, in some places, appears to have

some cut out pieces glued on as well. At the very least, it is an old advertising sign but I do believe it is artwork of some

kind. It depicts a young boy and girl dressed in period clothing playing with their new toys on Christmas morning! At the

top of the sign it reads “TOYS” in large red and white candy cane designed letters. The children are surrounded by great

toys of the past such as wooden soldiers, a drum, an old bi-plane, a toy Santa Claus, a cannon and of course a doll that

the little girl is seen holding in her arms. They are in front of a Christmas tree decorated in colorful ornaments and lights.

The drapes that appear in the background seem to be those you would find in an old Victorian home. I cannot say for

sure what this is but I can tell you it is beautiful! The colors are striking and it would look just fabulous hanging on the

wall! Perhaps it was an old Macy’s or toy store display sign for the holidays. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season. It

is custom framed and ready to hang on your wall. The framed dimensions are approximately 31 ½” x 22 ½”. An

amazing vintage Christmas toy sign or piece of original advertising art!
