This is a rare original uniform used by men affiliated with the 7th Regiment in New York. It is coming directly out of the estate of a man who was very involved with this organization. You can see an example of this uniform on this website: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/27thdivision/uniforms_7.html
The uniform is marked with the original owner's name on the interior of the pocket below the labeled (not photographed): "T G Boyle" and dated "May 22, 1935." Made by Riddabock & Co., New York. The jacket is also marked by a second owner "G C Deane, H2. Co4 7th Regiment."
Outstanding quality and in a good state of preservation. No odor, very clean! It is missing the epaulettes, and the mounting straps are detiorated. One button is not attached but present, and can be easily sewn back on. This uniform can be worn, but probably should only be displayed. Important piece of 7th Regiment history.
Some rough measurements:
Shoulder to Shoulder: 16-1/6"
Shoulder to sleeve: 24"
Pants: 32" waist, 42-1/2" long.
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER AUCTIONS - ALL FROM THE SAME ESTATE! I am selling rare items from the estate of a military and masonic historian. He had many interests, including New York societies, Masonic interest and antique weaponry. I didn't know how to identify some of the items I have listed, so there may be some great deals.
Thank you very much.
All items are from a smoke free home. Please note: If you would like insurance please state this at the close of the auction. I pack each item with a great deal of care, however I can not be responsible for packages damaged in transit.
