Vintage Ellgreave English Tea Pot
This is a lovely antique English Tea Pot, the bottom is marked "Ellgreave", A Div. of Wood & Sons, England, Genuine Ironstone" in has a coat of arms looking mark with flowers and two lions with an arch saying "Ralph 1750, Moses 1751, Enoch 1784." stamped into the pots bottom in a circle around the edges are the words "Ellgreave, England, Bicentennial" and hand written in gold is "931 R" It is decorated with gold trim on both sides of the handle, both sides of the spout, circling the spout's mouth, circling the top and circling the handle on the lid. An ornate design with birds of paradise with long flowing tail feathers perched on flowering tree branches daintily plucking fruit from over head decorate the sides. There are two bird designs on the front and one on the back.
This vintage tea server is 6 1/2" tall to the top of the lid and 8 1/2" from spout to handle. It has no chips or cracks, or crazing of the finish. The gilding is perfect. The interior is clean and unstained. Appears to have been used only for display.
