An outstanding antique music/violin stand. Transitional styles of Chippendale/George II. Solid mahogany, hand carved details including beads, shells, dart & arrow... Has a great finish, I am guessing it to have been re-finished at some point, they did a high end professional job. Stand dates between 1850's-1890's. Unusual legs bow quiet a ways outward. Solid brass hardware including thumb latch, screw swivel lock, and a adjustment rod with 13 different stops, the lyre back rotates and locks in numerous positions. Height of sheet music shelf adjusts from 40" lowest to 50" highest. Lyre back support is 19" widest. Feet are at about a 22" diameter. Marvelous condition with a few notes, 1 small chip of wood from bottom column edge (pic #12), missing small brass set screw from adjustment knob, some damage from thumb latch where it meets wood (minor). Stands very sturdy and joints are strong. No signs of the legs ever been broken. I have seen many of these type stands, this is by far the nicest! Buyer pays shipping in the US of $35.00 including insurance. Ships via FedEx only, sorry no PO boxes or rural routes, thanks.
