Antique Oyster Walnut Vaneer Wood Box Office Desk Tidy

Description: You are bidding for a stunning and very beautiful antique oval box. It has no maker’s marks as we would expect but we can tell by the design thick veneer that this would date from the mid to late 1700's

The wooden box has been made with thick wood sides and constructed in an oval manner. There is a lever lock with no key but these are easily found. The basis a stepped plinth whilst the lid replicated the stepped base

The sides have been veneered with a good thick Oyster Walnut veneer which has been arranged in a technique expected with fine cabinet or furniture making so there is no doubt that this has been made by a person of reputation

It is also good to see the veneer has been continued inside which means that there was no liner used with this box and also suggests that this was used in a place where it would have been seen like on a gentleman’s desk or side table

The purpose could have been for stationary or other desk items. This is stunning to look at and display and would make a statement for any successful executives desk maybe to keep his business cards or even cigars

This is a stunning antique 250 year old box that would certainly compliment any collection and would make an ideal gift for any friend or loved one especially if they love vintage quality boxes

Payment

• We accept cheques (preferred option) Postal orders, Paypal, Bank transfers

• We will also accept cash on collection only. Please note as we welcome any one wishing to collect their item we will not release it until payment has fully cleared.

Postage

• We buy all our packaging, the p&p will include the cost of (boxes, polychips, tape & other) we don't make money on postage sometimes we estimate incorrectly, if the postage is more than the actual cost we will pay the difference.
• If the postage is less, then the difference no matter how much will be donated to the NSPCC if on receipt of your item you wish to be credited the difference then  please email within 7 days ( this is only applicable on amounts over £2)
• It is the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver your items. We are not responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit and all claims must be made against the delivery company used. We however want you to receive your item in the condition it was sold, if any item is lost or damaged in transit please notify us with pictures within 7 days and we will investigate the matter fully and take the relevant action.
• Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

• Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
• Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
• Payment for hand delivered items must have cleared before delivery there is no cash on delivery service
• You can also collect if you wish please call first to arrange this
• even though we pack very well and brace pictures very securly, we are not insured for glass broken in transit. If the glass is broken in transit we will pay towards the new glass (The price will be found by contacting a local glass provider) we will not refund for the item.
