| Ash, Pikachu, and other league trainers appear in POKÉMON PUZZLE LEAGUE to either cheer you on or to challenge you to a match. The puzzle format is akin to that of TETRIS, in that you must clear rows of blocks that you arrange into layers. However, the games diverge when it comes to gameplay modes. The Single-Player mode pits you against other Pokémon trainers, where you must fill the other's field by clearing rows of blocks from your own field. The same idea applies to the Two-Player mode. In the Spa Service mode, the object is to clear all the blocks up to a specified point. The Time Zone mode gets the clock ticking as you scramble to clear as many blocks as possible within the given time span, while the Marathon mode tests your endurance. There's also the Puzzle mode, where you must clear a set number of blocks given a specified number of moves. By far, this is the mode presenting the most sophisticated level of challenge. You can play most modes in 3D, where you have a cylindrical field instead of a flat two-dimensional field. | |
