Description
Midway and Stainless Steel present RISE & FALL: CIVILIZATIONS AT WAR, an interesting combination of real time strategy and third person action adventure. The game also includes a number of naval combat levels. Players can select one of four different factions to control and lead to victory over the other forces of ancient Greece and Rome. Players can control the Greeks, the Persians, the Egyptians, and the Romans. There are two main campaigns: the Alexander campaign, which pits the Greeks against the invading Persian forces, and the Cleopatra campaign, in which players must protect the Egyptian empire from the Romans. Gamers can also select skirmish mode for a quick battle. The game’s Hero command is the most innovative feature. It allows players to switch from controlling the army in real time strategy mode to hacking and battling against the enemies in third person action mode. Most missions allow players to swap back and forth at any time, although some require players to complete the level in one mode or another. Some of these action levels have specific goals, such as killing a number of enemies. The real time strategy portions of the game include many of the standard RTS components, such as building structures and units, collecting resources, and advancing technology. Each faction has its own unique units and abilities, as well. RTS gamers will enjoy RISE & FALL: CIVILIZATIONS AT WAR because of its unique addition of third person action.
