A Prayer for Peace (Impressions of Israel) Thomas Kinkade recently flew to Israel in Spring 2006 and painted 10 images. This is the first one in the series. A Prayer for Peace depicts Jesus in shepherds' robe looking out over the city. Sense of reverence as the figure prays for peace in Jerusalem. We are told in scripture that we are to pray for peace in Jerusalem. Thom wanted to create an image as an encouragement for all to pray for world peace. Upon Thomas Kinkade's arrival in Israel, due to the current tight security, his paint thinner was removed, and he had to search for paint thinner before he could start on his mission! In conjection with the Minister of Tourism, an Exhibition titled "From Abraham to Jesus" will tour many cities in the United States. The exhibition features 240 artifacts from the Holy Land including the Dead sea Scrolls. Thomas Kinkade's 10 paintings of the Holy Land are included in the Exhibition and "A Prayer for Peace" is the over banner for the exhibit.
