Introduction:
  The STD-ND300 multi-power battery pack can be used with the STD-ND300 in the camera manual.The STD-ND300 takes one EN-EL3e,EN-EL4a,or EN-EL4 rechargeable battery or eight AA battries(alkaline,Ni-MH,lithiium,or nickel-mangnese) and includes AF-ON button,multi selector,and main and sub-command dials for taking pictures in “tall”(portrait) orientation.Camera menu options allow the user to choose whether the camera battery in the STD-ND300 are used first.

Installing  battery grip    
Before attaching the battery pack,be sure that the camera is off and that the STD-ND300 control lock is in the L position.
1 Remove the contact cap from the battery pack.
2 The contacts for the STD-ND300 are in the base of the camera,where they are protected by a contact cover.Remove the contact cover as shown and place it in the contact cover holder on the STD-ND300.
3 Insert the STD-ND300,keeping the STD-ND300 mounting screw aligned with the camera tripod socket.There is no need to remove the battery from the camera before connecting the STD-ND300.At default settings,the battery inserted in the camera will be used only after the battery in the STD-ND300 is exhausted.The [battery order]option in the camera Custom Settings menu can be used to change the order in which the batteries are used.See the camera manual for details.
4 Tighten the attachment wheel by rotating it in the direction shown by the LOCK arrow.
  Be sure to place the camera contact cover in the contact cover holder to prevent loss.
