Abandoning her jet-set lifestyle and her group sex-loving husband as the Swinging Sixties draw to a close, she espouses a variety of social and political causes, most notoriously journeying to North Vietnam in a well-publicized show of solidarity with Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh's anti-U.S. forces. Fonda divides her “life so far” into three “acts,” writing about her childhood, first films, and marriage to Roger Vadim in Act One.
