The Mosaic Process: The mosaic making technique is a very complex operation that starts with cutting different types of exotic woods such as Peach Wood, Rose Wood, Lemon Wood, and Walnut Wood in different geometric shapes such as triangles, squares, stars ? etc. with a length of app. 12? long sticks. Then the sticks are patterned together and glued to form the unique shapes. The glued sticks are then sliced in thin layers app. 1/8? and hand inlaid in different shapes and patterns to cover the wood frame / surface. Then the Mother of Pearl is added to the surface of the wood to add more beauty, value and uniqueness to the piece. The unfinished mosaic surface then is glued with specially treated unique glue that has to be prepared and cooked for hours before it is used. The surface of the mosaic is finished and grinded before the final finish is hand rubbed into the surface. After which special material is used to perform the final finish. This procedure is a very complex procedure that requires extreme detail, accuracy and patience. Not just anyone can perform the mosaic process and requires a master craftsman specializing in this field of inlay. Mother of pearl can only be inlaid into solid woods, mainly solid walnut, so rest assured that most of the structure will be solid walnut with only limited areas of MDF. Due to the high human involvement in performing this process, it makes each mosaic piece unique. The Mosaic items we import are very hard to come by and literally we are the only company in the USA able to import them from the Middle East due to the political unrest. Mosaic making started in Syria which is one of the oldest countries in the world. The Assyrians (Today referred to as Syrians) have mastered the mosaic process and all pieces are literally hand made from scratch with no machines involved at all. We are fortunate that our president travels the Middle East often and has established excellent contacts with some of the most reputable workshops in the Middle East today. This is investment quality furniture that will last you forever, and will appreciate in value. If you don't know much about this furniture and how hard it is to bring in to the USA, please email us any questions. We are setting very low prices on these items, please bid with confidence...
The Mosaic items we import are very hard to come by and literally only 2 or 3 companies in the USA are able to import them from the Middle East due to the political unrest. The mosaic furniture we import from Syria is of the highest quality found anywhere. We hand pick each piece we buy for quality. You can purchase this furniture from us cheaper than you get it in Syria believe it or not. Please consider the features below for our gorgeous 100% hand made Syrian mosaic furniture. Solid Walnut Wood Frame Hand Inlaid exotic woods like Peach wood, Apricot wood, Rose wood, Peach wood, lemon wood, cedar wood and olive wood. Genuine Inlaid Mother of Pearl (not the cheap imitations or plastic) Completely Hand Made (no mass production whatsoever). Same methods used today in the construction, where all the furniture is made in small workshops, not factories. We literally have a full time employee in Syria buying from over 30 small workshops. The Syrians are the first original producers of Arabesque mosaic inlaid furniture and accessories. Many surrounding countries like Egypt, Turkey, and Lebanon have tried to imitate the process with little success. There is a huge difference in the quality and craftsmanship and woods used. Syria sells mosaic furniture mainly to the Middle East due to heavy restrictions on importing from Syria to other countries like the USA. MBW FURNITURE, INC is one US based direct importer with the ability to import from Syria (however with extreme difficulty). We are not sure yet if we will be able to continue to import this furniture in the future due to the extreme difficulty and restrictions by customs inspections and political conditions and changes. You are getting one of a kind, unique furniture that will last a lifetime. You are getting the best Syrian mosaic furniture in the world from us; hand picked and selected, BAR NONE. Please shop around and come to us later to compare prices. Remember, there are different quality levels of Syrian mosaic furniture, we only import the cream of the crop quality with the real mother of pearl inlay and high end finish. Many sellers will sell you the cheap stuff; we cannot compete price wise with low end items because there is a world of difference in quality!

In order to deliver fragile furniture and antiques to our customers in excellent condition and without damage, we have implemented strict quality control measures and have utilized only the best methods in packing and crating to ensure safe arrival of your order to your destination.
MBW Quality control and Packing:
It is important for our customers to realize that most items we sell are extremely fragile and require extra care in packing and handling, especially antiques, bars and handcrafted furniture. Such items require boxes and wooden crates to be custom made only by packers with years of packing and crating experience. Such custom crates also need added protection and padding on the inside with top quality packing materials. Simply put, we do not and will not compromise the quality of our packing and for this reason; our shipping and handling costs might be slightly higher than sellers selling similar items. We feel it is important for our customers to realize that professional packing is not cheap and we do not want to take any chances with your hard earned money.
We appreciate the opportunity and welcome any feedback you can give that will help us improve your buying experience with us.
