2 LL BEAN WOVEN WOODEN PACK BASKET BACKPACK

my father bought these about 32 years ago from ll bean. they have little use on them. there are a couple of small cracks in the weaving, 2 on the large basket and 1 on the small basket, but no other major defects in the weaving.

the bottoms are in nice shape. the cloth straps, buckles and rivets are all in great shape, but disassembled at this time, see below.

a couple of issues:

1) the leather hanging strap is torn on the large basket. on the small basket, the leather strap is still intact, but with some dry rotting, it probably will be weak.

2) i had to disassemble the strapping and take off the shoulder pads on both packs. reason being, after such a long time, the rubber paddings that were attached to the leather shoulder pieces deteriorated and oozed black goo, which got onto the baskets in places, see pictures. i packed the 4 shoulder pad assemblies in a zip lock bag to prevent further damage to the packs. i don't know if they are still useable or repairable.

there is some magic marker writing on the small pack.

i will also add $8.00 per pack ($16.00 total) handling fee.

dimensions of large pack: 21"H x 16"W x 12"D

dimensions of small pack: 19"H x 13 1/2"W x 11 1/2"D

they will not fit into each other to make one shipping package.
