Rare Original Art Deco Bronze 'Erotic Dancer' c.1927

A Rare and Original French Bronze Art Deco 'Nude Erotic Dancer' figure, screw-bolted to her original Black & Brown tiered & bevelled, Italian-Marble Pedestal Base, cast around 1925-30 in France. 

Cast in solid bronze, with a lovely aged deep nutty-brown patina, this figure is in wonderful condition, with only slight areas of over-polishing showing the underlying golden bronze colour on her extremes.  This rare early French bronze depicts a young nude-dancer, striking a dynamic yet sublimely elegant pose, in mid performance, whilst pivoting on one tip-toed foot, she is full of the feel of the wild bohemian dancers of the Art Deco cabaret circuit.  Her poise and elegance is pure Art Deco, with the gesturing arms, with one leg raised up to echo her overall shape, as her head is cast backwards with care-free abandonment.  She is certainly full of movement, whilst combined with the style and elegance of the age, showing the influences of the Ballet Russe at the time and also the many risque under-ground cabarets in Paris.  Quite a daring piece for the period, and one quite hard to come across with the original marble-base.  She is screw-bolted by her original bronze thread, and bolt-fastening to this weighty carved Italian-marble pedestal stand.  Both the figure and the base are free from any major damage, with only slight age-related nibbling to the stone-base, quite remarkable for a bronze of this age, circa 1927!
