Sottsass Era - Alessi - Comix in the Kitchen Tray 1997

Designed by Sergio Cascavilla for Alessi, Italy in 1997, this was the round serving tray in the short-lived Comix in the Kitchen Series.  This amusing series featured oven mitts, paper napkins, rectangular and round serving trays, placemats, and an apron that were available in three different storyways - this is the "Pollo e guai non mancano mai" narrative.   The decoration on the tray is fabulous as you can see in the details in photos#1, #3.  Even the backside of the tray is decorated.  In excellent condition, this piece has never been used and even retains its original box.  The series has been out-of-production for many years.  Measures 14" diameter.
