Artist : WILLIAM MARSHALL (Metropole Rds 46006) Titles : Jericho / 900 miles / Didn't my lord deliver daniel / The 3 bells Cover condition : NM Record condition : VG+ (looks NM, plays VG+) Comments : The famous movie actor/director delivers here 4 gospel tunes in a jazz mood with Art Simmons and his orchestra. At that time, early 60's, Art was working in Paris, as a resident pianist in such clubs as The Ringside, the Mars Club or the Living Room, with local fellow musicians Michel Gaudry, Clark Terry, Jean Bonal, Elec Bacsik or Pierre Cullaz. Any info welcome about this recording who probably took place in Paris around 1961/62. This METROPOLE label is pretty unusual too... While trying to figure out what's this record was about, I discovered the guy married Michele Morgan, Ginger Rogers, and Micheline Presle! And he's the father of Tonie Marshall..Ok, enough wikipedia for tonight.
