There are 3 ways to control the lamp as following:

1.)  You can using a sync cable connect with the light which can control directness synchronously. 2.)  There is a test button on the light where you can know whether the light is connected or not.
3.) It is optical control, when the flashgun is working, the optical receiver on the light will receive it and control the lamp work synchronously.
 There are one wireless remote trigger kit in the package, plug the receiver into the SYNC socket and set the transmitter on to the camera, then the flash also can be triggered
