Quick Installation steps:

Turn off the PC and insert the DVR card in a free PCI slot of your computer

Turn on the computer and it will find the new hard ware, put in the CD for installing the drivers automatically and select the suitable application to install. For example, buyers in US and Canada need to select to install NTSC application for the cameras they got is NTSC ones.

Turn off the computer to connect the cameras with the DVR card and be sure to power the cameras via power adapters.
Computer requirements:
CPU: CELERON D 2.0G and up (Support Intel dual core CPU now, no AMD)
RAM: 128M or up; 256M or up for two cards system;
DISPLAY CARD: ATI 32M and up;
Mother board: Intel 845 and up;
Operating system: Windows 2000/XP/Vista;
Note:
DirectX9.0 must be installed before you install our new software. If your hard disk exceeds 120G, please use WinXP with SP2, or Win2000 with big-hard-risk-mend.

The cable is used to connect the camera and video process devices, such as DVR cards, DVR recorders, video split quads and even direclty a TV monitor. And no need to find power outlets at the camera location. this way there is no concern about protecting the power adapters from rain and snow.
