This Vintage Chess Set is of unknown age and origin, the board is beautiful but needs basic repair and cleaning. The top and trim are made of green and white sand stone like material that I've seen in other South American art, I'm not sure if this is a motif or indicates origin in South America. It has Aztec or Mayan style markings on the board, and the pieces are Spanish soldiers, monks and Native American's. Many pieces are missing and the remaining are in various states of disrepair. Pieces White - 3 pawns with heads (one missing beard), & 3 pawns no heads - 2 rooks - 2 bishops - 1 knight - 1 queen - 1 knight with no lower legs or base - 1 king with no lower legs or base Green - 2 pawns with heads, & 4 pawns no heads, & 1 pawn head - 2 rooks - 1 knight - 1 queen - 1 bishop broken in half (pieces may be missing) - 1 king lower legs and base broken off (base included but seems to be missing most of legs)
