On her first day back to school after summer vacation Olivia the pig shares the amazing story of her visit to the circus. At first she thought her visit would be the same as any other but on that day all the circus performers were sick with ear infections and could not perform. Luckily, Olivia steps in and saves the day by performing such acts as fire eating and flying on the high trapeze. B&w illustrations, highlighted with red accents, accompany the text. Selected by the New York Times Book Review as one of the Best Illustrated Children's Books of 2001, a New York Times 2001 Notable Book, and one of the Best Children's Books 2001 by Publishers Weekly.
